LoL - Let me guess, Chess Openings for White Explained!?

One of the things that amazed me in making the switch from chess to backgammon was the level of analysis that goes into backgammon. People throw out a couple of (more or less random) observations about the position and apparently that tells them what to play. If a chess book tried to do this I'd seriously toss it within a few pages. I've just gotten used to it, I guess, since that's pretty much what I do now.

I prefer making the 5 here, by a fairly wide margin.
