My original impulse was to play 13/7. Looking again, I convinced myself that this was not a good time to surrender outfield control. The opponent is ready to flood the outfield, so giving up the midpoint could mean surrendering the outfield for good. That left 8/2, because my real first decision was not to break the block no matter what. Besides, the plan must be to dump checkers behind the anchor next turn anyway, so hopefully it won't hurt to start now.
