Interesting. If I had not adjusted for the race being shorter and just done 34.2/88 to get effective win chance it would have been right on.

34.2/88 = 38.86 giving blue equity of 2(61.14 - 38.86) = .4456

I think I see now something I should have considered. I think the fact that are starting closer to the cash (at about 36% instead of 22%) compensates for the race being shorter.
