even for money though making the 3pt loses only 1/2 a % more Gs. Something to be said for having more homeboard points

I seem to be quoting Robertie a lot, but I learned a lot from his books over the years. I seem to recall him saying more than once that the best way to avoid a gammon is to win the game. Making the 3pt is definitely an asset in that regard, although I can see how starting an advanced anchor might be better for securing against a gammon.
