If, indeed, the Stickster went to New Orleans for Mardi Gras it reminds me of an old personal anecdote.

In my professional career, since retired, I used to go to New Orleans on business quite often. I remember sitting in the lobby of a Bourbon Street hotel one evening getting my shoes shined by this classic old black gentleman. He was pure New Orleans.

We chatted as he shined my shoes. While there, a young businessman type, obviously with a few Hurricanes under his belt, came through the lobby with a gaudy, loud hooker. Again, she was the prototypical prostitute of New Orleans as it was. They went to the elevators and proceeded up, we assumed, to a room.

The old black gent just whistled and shook his head. "You know, some of them boys go up ...... but they never come down."
