The gammon go play 13-8 13-9 is definitely wrong. 24-15 could be considered but is at most marginally better than the standard 24-20 13-8. Even if 24-15 was marginally better at DMP, it need not be better at that score, since gammons count at least something and backgammons much.

I'd play 24-20 13-8.
