I think Blue is too good to double by a small margin. The eleven 6's will win about 50% gammons because of white's six crossovers for the outside checkers and his deuce and ace points are not slotted. Of the other twenty-five numbers, only 44, 33, 55 and 22 do not allow a redouble on Blue's next turn. Only 54:14/5 may be a take for White. Of course, the big price of going for the gammon is the danger of rolling one of the four bad numbers. Blue cannot redouble on 44 or 33 while 55 and 22 forces him to open up his closed board after which the result becomes very unclear. However, Blue should not lose a majority of the games after 55, 44, 33 or 22, especially since he owns the cube.
Usually, in this type of TG position where I think the margin is small, I tend to redouble and hope that my opponent would make a huge blunder by taking. However, in the current position even the most stubborn taker can see that Blue has too many spare pips and time to escape his back checker. On the next turn, after Blue rolls eights or less pips, the temptation to take may be a lot harder to resist.
