I haven't studied it systematically, but anecdotally my experience is that "this sort of position" tends to be more likely to be TG at 4a4a than at 3a3a—basically, it seems that I get dinged for cashing when TG more often at 4a4a than at 3a3a. If I had to explain it, it would be that it's easier to lose your cash at 3a3a if you play on.

I'm slowly collecting ATS cube errors from my own matches at different scores and at some point, hopefully in the not-too-distant future, I may have enough examples to be able to develop a more principled approach towards these kinds of questions. I'm not there yet, though.
