Notes:
1) "Backgammon on line for money is against the Law in the U.S.A." Now that some states, such as new Jersey, have approved online gaming, I would think that backgammon would also fall under this umbrella. Activating the offering should be easy. E.g., if one NJ casino is using the BWIN platform to support poker, etc., then adding a link to the backgammon app should be fairly easy.
2) "The USBGF is an organization of the players that exists to help make the game better for the players and to help grow the game in every way possible. Promoting the gambling aspects of the game is a double-edge sword in that while it may certainly attract more people who like to gamble, it can turn away parents and children and people who are looking for hobbies and games that do not involve gambling. " Poker grew due to online money gaming availability. If you want to grow BG, then online money offerings are something to support. Or are you not interested in growing attendance at the major BG money tourneys in the U.S.?
3) "with the speed of XG and the huge potential for cheating on line, I doubt it will ever be an important part of the game in the future and I hope the USBGF does not expend its energy and resources in that area. " Online poker is also vunerable to cheating, but this did not prevent the huge growth in the live tourney games that resulted from the online offerings.
