Blue is Player 1XGID=-b----E-C---dE-A-c-ea---A-:0:0:1:44:0:0:3:0:10 Blue to play 44 For a roll of doublets, the Z family is defined as follows.
- One die is played on the far side of the board, including entering a checker from the bar.
- Three dice are played down (i.e., to or within the outer board).
If there is more than one member in the Z family, use the Hit-More-6 rule to to rank them. See the Nactation Tutorial or my post Clarifying S (Split), Z (Reverse split), and B (Both) for more information and examples.
In the position 63R-62$-44, the Z family has two members. The first three die movements are the same in both plays: 24/20*, 13/9(2). The fourth die is the decider: 15/11 beats 13/9 by the wrinkle in the 6pt Convention. In the outer board, landing a spare on the 11pt outranks landing on the 9pt.
Z = 24/20*, 15/11, 13/9(2)
z = 24/20*, 13/9(3)There is no reason to get fancy with this. I would play Z in this position.
