Printing XG positions for Mac

I tried saving it in Textedit, then renaming it with a .html ending. When I opened that in my web browser it's still the string of gibberish. But beyond that, isn't the whole idea of exporting with the Publication that one can export an image that can be put into a Word document? Why is it coming out with the HTML? I skyped with a friend last night and she somehow managed to get an image doing what appears to be the same steps as I am. The difference is she's on a PC. Am I just SOL with a Mac?
