This looks like a combination of being too inflexible and gammoned too often to take.

The blot on the 2-point and the semi-crushed three-point board are huge liabilities. Blue is going to flood white's outfield with checkers and should white get lucky and hit blue with a long fly shot, he will still be in big trouble. Move one of white's checkers to the two-point, from the three-point, and it is probably not even a cube.
