Waiiiit a minute. How the heck did we make the acepoint, lose the 8 and 11 points, let Stick escape and give him the cube? Oh, never mind.

Blue must activate a checker or two, but must also give up an asset. Should it be the anchor or the 15 point?

The main battlefield seems to be the outfield, which argues for 21/15. But Blue's weak homeboard and anchor mean that an immediate outfield fight may not be decisive. Blue may need that anchor later, and certainly sooner to avoid 1-1 3-3 jokers and hit/fan sequences. And since Blue has a checker on the 24, after 21/15 he has to hope to not be snuffed immediately, and then roll a 3 to remake the anchor that 21/15 just gave up. And Blue is down 35 pips, which argues for keeping the anchor and longterm chances.

If Blue plays 15/10, then 24/23 activates a checker that is doing almost nothing now. So often in anchor-plus-acepoint-blot games, the acepoint blot is more of a liability than an asset. And it becomes more of a liability without the anchor!

It'd be nice to keep both outfield points, but at least the Blue midpoint vs. White 17 point is the main confrontation; the Blue 15 point vs. White midpoint doesn't rate to be much of a hindrance to White there.

So I've talked myself into 15/10 24/23 over 21/15.
