I like breaking the 5-pt anchor with the 5, for the reasons stated, leaving 3s and duplicated 4s with lots of otherwise awkward rolls, but I wouldn't leave the 8-pt blot which allows White to hit and escape with tempo, or worse, put two on the bar.

After this play the 6-pt spare also acts as a deterrent for a reckless run from the 2-pt anchor.
