If you play something like 4/1, White's 6s are good in any case because they are killed. If you play 9/6 and White rolls a 6, you are unhappy but you have a good acepoint game. If White does not roll a 6, you have a natural follow up. If you tear up the board, your next roll is going to be difficult no matter what, and you'll be too hampered in any tactical exchange.
