The best time to leave an anchor is when the opponent is in the air. This is especially true when the opponent also still has inner board blots lying around as he does here. If he's lucky enough to enter against our 4pt board he won't be able to do enough. If he doesn't enter, all the better, good luck with the cube. I've seen many example of this over the years and typically it is a worse anchor that we're freeing ourselves from but we need to consider any anchor breaking play once the opponent is in the air and we realize that there's not much he can do immediately since he's on the bar. We may look strung out but everything is so connected and we're still likely to continue our attack next turn if the opponent does enter we need not worry much about consolidating.
