How long would you think about this if you weren't on the clock?

As for me, I freely admit that finding the correct play does not depend on the amount of time which I am allowed to use. This position overtaxes my backgammon skills. Therefore, playing this position over the board would result into a guessing game.
From Blue´s perspective, the situation is this:
• 3a7a score and cube ownership (2),
• weak 3-point home versus 5-point home,
• trailing the pip count by 38 pips,
• static position which hampers reasonable and safe plays in the next rolls,
• ...Unfortunately, I can´t estimate the ratio of winning additional single wins and losing additional gammons. 10:20, 8:12, 6:20...? I´m fishing in troubled waters here. On the one hand, both the score and the turned cube suggest a safe play. On the other hand refraining from the hit does not seem to be good due to the lack of appropriate alternatives. 6/1 7/5 looks awful and it causes problems of playing the next roll well and safely because of Blue´s static position. 6/1 7/5 tends to defer Blue´s problem.
Although the hit 15/8* might be a makeshift move, it will give the initiative to Blue. So, hit and hope for the best.
