Woolsey's law

In position # 18, many players might be UNSURE of taking/passing, so according to woolsey's law, it is a double.

I disagree with this. If you can find me a handful of backgammon players who would be unsure of the correct cube action and willing to play for $1 or more, please send them in my direction.

For the sake of argument, let's take it as given that you KNOW your opponent will make the correct action. This has some pretty absurd conclusions. E.g.: you are playing GNU (and assume GNU plays perfectly). Ergo, you should never double.

If white passes, you win simply and if he takes, again you did right and now you are favorite to win twice the stake.

You gain by doubling no matter what White does.
