Ok, and I appreciate that this discussion has brought out that the Law works well in money games because we have a good idea of our doubling window and where the take/pass line is.
I suppose that what I'm saying is that the Law works well in money games because the doubling window is "wide enough". The window gets narrower when you have a match lead. At certain scores, it can become really, really narrow. Obviously with a narrower doubling window, you should be less inclined to cube than you otherwise would, but if you apply the WL as religiously as you would for money, you may be cubing when it's not good enough or already too good, which is a bigger error than it otherwise would be for money, because the doubling window is so narrow. That may be convoluted and unclear but it sounds about right.
