My thoughts on how I got here

First off, not once did I forget the score.

Second, the first time that I had anything beyond a very small cube this game was the final post I made in this series. Until then I was simply behind and there was no point in cubing what was basically a nominal cube. Sure, it is a cube when you are behind in the game but still have a market loser, but I wasn't going to cube that in the hopes that my opponent would screw up and forget to cube.

Third, I screwed up. I didn't forget the score or forget to cube, I merely didn't take the time to figure out my equity, a no-no at this score. For money most of these cube decisions are clearly no cube, so the fact that I was behind in the race made me think no cube for you. In other words I was merely stupid, not forgetful. Oops.

So, live and learn. Here I was thinking I shouldn't cube because my opponent would screw up and take with more than 25% chances (or better yet, more like 22%) but less than 32%, and instead I blew through my market.

I lost the match at 2-2/3 after seriously outplaying white in checker play during the match. Again, live and learn.
