We don't want to get hemmed in, so we need to move our back checker to either the 22 or 21 point, hitting at least one checker. Hitting one also makes it difficult for White to go forward. So either B/21, hitting one or two, or B/22* and find an ace.
If we go to the 21, I like to do so hitting only once: B/24/21*. If we hit twice, we help White's timing, and I don't think we gain enough extra gammons to compensate.
If we stay on the 22, either 6/5 or 8/7 (if 22/21*, I already like B/24/21* better). I'd like to slot the bar, to try to make it and prime White in. If return hit on the bar, we'd have return hits with 4s, 1s, 5s, 2s and 3s, with a number of double hitters.
I like B/22* 8/7, using our tempo to try to make a major gain when it is relatively safe to do so.
