why is it important to study DMP backgammon?
Neil's answer speaks to its necessity. One faces DMP's frequently in close matches. However, I admit that this serious student of backgammon does not spend adequate time in this area. There are only so many hours per day that I can spend improving my backgammon. Perhaps, if I was playing near World Class level, focusing more energy on DMP may be worth it. However at my level, I simply play a lot of online money games and bot match games to practice backgammon. This form of practice is so much fun and for the time being it will suffice. But one day, I may have to concentrate on practicing one point matches which I consider to be much less entertaining.
