In my perfect bg world every tourney would be clock mandatory and all matches would be recorded. Right now I'm holding my breath for the clocks ... I try not to think about because it makes me want to kick someone square in the nuts, another daily instance of common sense not being carried out.

Agreed on the first point. I would like to see recorded matches as well, but that's pretty difficult to implement, unless you go with self-recording. Not everyone has or will use a digital camera, and recording your own matches by hand can be tricky to do quickly enough. People fluent in backgammon could maybe do it, but if it was mandatory it'd be out of the question. Particularly with clocks.

I also think there's something to be said for playing backgammon on boards, not computers. I'm not wholeheartedly opposed to people playing on computers, but I don't come to a backgammon tournament so I can have a giant LAN party.
