SO many choices..lets try to weed them out.
I think we want to play a back checker out here so lets look at 21/16. Stick won't want to break the 11 pt to hit with a random entering 2 nor will he want to break the 16 pt to hit with a random entering 1 and this connects our blots with a 6 and gives us returns if he rolls 64 so this play looks good to me as we don't want 4 back checkers and don't want a 2nd anchor.
Making his bar pt is possible, but that play makes me gag to be honest ! Why give up his 5 pt for his 7 pt here ? This may allow him to make his 5 pt and attack at some point and also fill in more of his board which with his 2 pt made is more geared for tactics than positional play. There's no rush to give up his 5 pt here so making his bar is totally out of the question for me.
How about 21/18 10/8 ? Well if we play 21/16 both blots are rather safe (unless he rolls an entering 4 or 11,22 but we can tolerate that) we don't want make his bar pt here, IMHO and 10/8 prevents our next 64 from making our 4 pt. 21/16 looks better. 10/5 is OK but doesn't get the back checkers moving which is what we want to do if we can't make a new offensive point.
13/10 13/11 makes the 10 pt and it can be good to make a pt 6 in front of an open 1 and this may lead to an attack, but we are a bit short of material and Stick will rather happily hit with an entering 2. I doubt trading the midpt for the 10 pt is correct here when he owns our 9 pt.
21/16 for me .. neilkaz ..
