Mr Duane Jensen from St. Paul, Minnesota, sent me the following mail concerning this topic:

“Has it ever been tried to seed players according to their Calcutta prices?”

Decades ago at the Minneapolis Athletic Club, some of the backgammon tournaments were seeded by pairing the highest-priced player with the lowest-priced player, etc..

This practice created much interest in the Calcutta bidding but it was grossly unfair to the weak, lowest-priced player.
