In Response To: About video match recording ... (Bill Riles)

Thank you Bill for sharing your experiences. Recently I bought Sony Hard Disk Drive Handycam DCR-SR190E with 40GB hard disk. I add also Wide Conversation Lens VCL-HGO737C and NP-FH100 spare battery. Supplied one is NP-FH60. I put camera in 1 meter high tripod and recored one match at home. Okay, I can recognize almost all rolls mostly from dices, otherwise from moving checkers. I recorded match with SP recording quality. (standard play).

But, honestly I am not so happy with sharpness of dots on dices so I will try with HQ recording quality.

Also I will try to experiment a little bit with settings. For example: in HOME MENU-SETTINGS-MOVIE SETTINGS-STEADYSHOT=OFF

OPTION MENU:FOCUS=MANUAL (default is automatic, what is your experience?); WHITE BAL=INDOOR (default is auto)

Do you have some other recommendations? I will try to manual adjust focus because automatic focus is battery consumer (I read about that in manual.)

I am going in Vienna, Austria this Saturday on tournament so will try there and report here about it.

Also I am interested about your experience with batteries. How much batteries you have and how many hours you record with them? Do Sony data about that are reliable in real situations (after turning off LCD, without zooming and in backgammon match situations)?

Thanks again
