Botreality check - RO

I find this bot bashing very interesting. It's somewhat nice to know that the bots' evaluations should not be taken as the final word in all situations. We already know that bots don't always understand what is best in complicated backgames, but then again, who does? Daniel showed a little while ago that the bots (or maybe it was only one of them) don't understand the concept of rolling a prime if the prime has a long way to go before achieving closeout.
Backgames are not so common and the way to handle them is different than in more normal games. We may never get clear answers on what the best moves are in all types of backgames. Full primes that lie entirely in the outfield will never occur in normal play, one can excuse the bots for not understanding them even though it's easy for humans to see that always slotting the front will eventually win the game with high probability.
But the position in this thread is not unnormal in any way. Why will GNU hit a blot on the midpoint and run the risk of blue establishing anchor? This is a 1-point match so extra gammons is not the answer. Is it connected to GNU's failure to see that full primes can be safely rolled home against a single blot as long as the opponent has no counterprime?
