Jason, we share all your concerns. It must be easy to use and not cumbersome or it's not a good product.
Even when you transcribe a match by hand you have to first tell XG if it is a match and to how many points, or if it is a money game. You would have to do the same thing with our system, however you can just punch these numbers into the clock to tell XG instead of doing it in XG as you might not even have a computer handy at the time and are just putting it all on a flash drive for downloading later.
As for stacked checkers, illegal moves, poor lighting, wrong color dice (some dice cannot be read well or at all) we are addressing all those and have found simple solutions.
Of course humans can mess it up by changing the dice, obstructing the view, moving checkers illegally, but here again there will be notifications that can be corrected when that is done. Do those corrections slow the game down...yes, but if you were doing hand transcription from a video you'd be in bad shape if those problems were not immediately addressed and corrected and with our program they will be corrected for the transcription to continue.
