An excellent point. In physics, I believe this is called the "observer effect". If the recorder interrupts the flow of the game, it likely changes the game it is recording!

I imagine the software will let the user choose notifications to some extent. Example: legal moves. In a NLM match you not only don't need a notification, you don't want it. But if you favor LM, then you arguably want the flow interrupted.
