You can specify where the random numbers come from. It doesn't affect rollouts or evaluations. It would only affect the dice when playing against another human or the computer. Some people don't trust (despite studies) the internal number generation (Mersenne Twister) so they prefer to get their rolls from an outside source. Random.org is a website that GNUbg can request random rolls from, and those rolls are generated from the randomness of atmospheric noise. For most people the default is what they use, but for the nonbelievers we give another option.
