13/11 6/3* – sort of a 70s kind of play!

The biggest difference I see between 52S-32 and 61P-52S-32 is that there are no spares on the 7pt or 8pt in the third-roll position. If you need to cover or hit from one of those points, you will have to break a point.

Another thing is the race. On the second roll you trail by 2 pips after your move. After the third-roll play, you lead by 3 pips. That's only a 5-pip swing, but every little bit counts.

Of course, even in a new century, those 70s plays are sometimes right! I'll be watching this one with interest.
