Match play reading

There's not a lot written on this topic. Stick has some articles on Gammon Village about short match scores that you may find useful if you're willing to pay the Gammon Village fee.
Are you comfortable with gammon prices and take points? That's the first step to master. These give you an excellent first-order approximation as to how much you should adjust your play according to the score. Simply "being in the lead" or "being behind" is rather too crude a distinction. For example, if you're leading 4a5a, your gammon price is actually elevated, especially on a 2-cube, and there are many times when you want to double more aggressively in a gammonish position than for money, even though you're ahead in the match.
In most positions, the best move is the best move regardless of the match score. If you suspect that you're playing too conservatively then you may want to start by reverting to your usual money-game style and only dialing back when you get dinged by the bot for playing too loose.
