Blue wants to escape his back checkers while containing White's. Advancing the anchor lets his back checkers see daylight. (e.g. 66 swings from being a poor roll to being a crusher.) The offensive shift is good because the 7pt is a better blocking point than the 8pt. (The prime is more compact; White's checker on the 1pt now needs a combination to leap instead of just 6x; White's 65 swings from a great number to just average.) It also improves Blue's attacking chances should the dice invite it.
