16-10, 17-12 appears to win almost all the time when White doesn't roll a one. If white hits, he can't complete the closeout and will rarely send a second back. This looks strong to me. I would guess that Blue wins almost half the time he is hit. It's tougher to evaluate the hitting play, 17-11*, 16-11. White could pick up two, but that doesn't look likely. Timing is a serious problem on the other side of the board. White's going to have to come forward too far or break the inner board on a lot of entering rolls. White may not get a shot at all. So, I'm not sure. I'll choose the danger I know and play 16-10, 17-12.
