When ahead in the race, race. By extension, when behind in the race, don't race. Unless of course getting gammoned is a greater problem than losing.

So we don't want to race here with 21/16. What we want to do is instead somehow make up the race, or trap Stick behind a prime.

I think we are a day late and a Euro short to be trying to prime Stick, so I play 21/20 6/1*, and while safely anchored against most gammons, I hope to scoop up the other blot, making it a free-for-all. If we get hit back we might even make the other anchor, causing the Stickster some problems.

I think 21/20 13/8 is too passive and doesn't play to the dynamics of the position enough. Without Stick's blot on our 11pt I would play 13/8.
