3-5 backgamee play

White has just about enough timing for a backgame, so she might not want to hit giving blue license to make blotty plays.
OTOH, a 5-3 structure lends itself to switching gears and trying to win going forward, plus there's a spare on the five, so maybe the blotty play is not such a good idea.
And on the gripping hand, white is on the roof with 16 dancing numbers so maybe the blotty play is right after all.
Flexibility and pure play are how I approach backgames, and I'm even "right" sometimes. the ordinary looking play 24/18 9/7 makes the defensive bar point and dupes twos, so it's strong contender. Making the offensive bar point seems to be the pure play (although maybe it's just another point to clear?) and being hit is no big deal, so why not. Blue seems to have lots of mobility no matter what, although making the eighteen makes 66 play poorly.
I'll make the seven. How bad can it be?
13/7 9/7
