That is also another factor worth remembering. You could also argue that this is something that most players have to do occasionally and that it should affect players evenly. But I suspect the biggest problem is the lack of matches to draw the average from.

I have to do that sometimes but preferably when nobody is watching! :-)

In that respect it was fun to read about the tournament that was held (in Denmark was it?) where you got 1 point for winning and 2 points for playing on the lowest PR and then some more points for other performance metrics.

I guess when the backgammon clock/recording device that was announced some time ago ends up on the market this kind of tournament could become more common.
