Three plays seem to be in consideration.

Make the three point.

Make the twelve point.

Strip the midpoint while stacking the eight.

No doubt, my presentation of the third option indicates my bias. So, 13/8 is out.

I'm intrigued by the twelve point - it blocks fives, aims a third checker at any attempt to run, and any hit will leave three blots in the PF's home board to shoot at. But making a fourth homeboard point seems to be such a permanent asset that I'll opt for that.
