Despite of the score I would hit. I guess it is important to snatch this checker on the bar point away from White because this checker is very versatile. It can be used as either builder or priming slot. Furthermore, there are some slight duplication aspects: White needs 4's and 5's to enter and to hit from the 8-point. My estimation is that Blue wins more GWC percentages (~15%) than losing Gammon percentages (~10%) after b/18*. So, the hit seems to be justified.
