Sly was 21 when he won the Amateur. I am not sure how good he was at 18.

KG was in his mid-twenties when he was a "Boy Wonder."

Ballard was a giant by 1980, when he was 24.

Craig Chellstorp was in his late twenties when he was recognized by other top players as one of their peers.

Carl Sellars was in grad school when he played.

In the late seventies Magriel had a stable of young players. Billy Horan was young at heart, but maybe not so young, but Jason Lester was pretty young, Roger Lowe was younger, and Eric Seidel was younger still. I think Eric may have been one of the best by the time he was 19, but unlike Nack and KG, I don't know what year they were born.

Abe Mosseri was probably in his early twenties when he burst upon the scene.
