When doing a swiss movement you need to run trials to figure out the outcomes - is it 5 rounds, 6 rounds, 7 rounds, etc. What is the likelihood of it running longer?

When you know how many rounds you have, then take the time you have (one day, two days etc), and inject the required breaks, and tournament administration time (doing the next round draw, eliminating, or changing draws so that people dont play each other multiple times), then see how much time you have. Then do your logistics.

Start with your required end result, and work backwards. Thats how to do timings and match lengths for a tournament. You cannot say "im running a 9pt swiss event, how much time should I allocate per round?".
