Do you seriously think we gave Mochy an exam to pass to prove he is qualified to teach backgammon? The same can be said for Stick, Sax, Michy, Culpepper, Tobias, Presser and several others we have brought on who have clearly proven their playing and teaching skills before joining us.
As for the credibility of the BLC, no matter how experienced and skilled the person is as a player, we do provide him with amazing teaching tools and curriculum and we all work together to constantly improve and update our material.
If you go to www.thebackgammonlearningcenter.com and look at our list of teachers and our testimonials, I think you will find ample credibility. There are top open players and major tournament winners all over the world who will openly state that they learned much from one or several of our teachers, and I am sure we can safely say that we have taught more students that all other active backgammon teachers combined.
There are a few teachers in our group that are not world-famous for their playing and lecturing and teaching skills, such as my son, Dan, and those recent additions to our group specialize in teaching beginners at a much lower rate per hour. We felt the need to bring on these teachers because there is a demand; because we believe it is important to the game to provide this service and get more people indoctrinated into tournament backgammon at a lower price; and because these teachers, with experience and coaching (which they all receive extensively) will eventually be well-qualified to teach higher level players as well.
Keene, please be sure I do not resent your questioning BLC's credibility, but credibility is not something I can prove best with words, but rather by the reputation we have gained from the testimonials of over 300 students we have and are coaching over the past 10 years. Results speak louder than words. And I am sorry if it sounds like I am bragging...it's that I am extremely proud and honored to be a part of this amazing group of people who excel as both players and teachers.
