Why don't people use GammonSite?

I have been the "official teaching pro" for gammonsite for many years and I absolutely love the site. It is owned and run by Xavier and as we know everything he does is quality. I have tremendous respect for Xavier as a software developer and as a friend, but I have always been shocked that he wont allow me or the USBGF (we made offers in the past) work out an agreement to bring more people to his wonderful site.
I wanted to run the upcoming collegiate program on gammonsite and the previous US collegiate program but we needed a separate room and lower rates for kids, but Xavier simply wasnt interested. Safeharborgames gives us everything we need free and welcomes the traffic.
I will not soeak for Xavier as to why he does not want to wxpand the gammonsite membership, why it has taken so long to make Xg for macs, and why the next generation on XG is tsking so long. I believe he simply doesnt have the time or possibly the financial return for his time is too poor--thats a major problem with all backgammon products--the maket for serious players is simply too low and people (like Xavier) have more profitable uses for their time.
In the meantime if you are unhappy woth Gridgammon I suggest you try safeharborgames. The interface is just okay but you pkay the same game as anywhere; its free; there are lots of tournaments; you can import matches into XG, and the people are friendly and coueteous.
