Thanks, guys, for sorting this out.
One of the reasons we have this rule is so that we don't end up with a game of follow the leader. Frankly, most of the players in the OLM would not do that anyway, but we wanted to avoid the situation where everyone just makes the plays that Neil or Stick suggest. (Yes, Stick used to be a member of the Prime Factors!)
During the consultations, of course, you are allowed to change your vote.
One other tip: it is usually better not to check a position with a bot until the game where it occurred has been finished, or, at least, until the position is long passed. Otherwise, you may end up having to recuse yourself in a consultation.
There is also a danger that you may gain bot information regarding doubling. If you enter a checker position into a bot, the equity that is calculated can help you with cube decisions. Therefore, it is best not to check with a bot until a position is long passed, and there are no cube ramifications.
