I’ve been fortunate to share in some of Ed’s amazing karma this year. Ed was backing me in my two Jackpot wins this year in New York and Novi which makes his streak even more amazing and it’s clearly rubbed off on other DC area players. Bill F did pretty well in NY too with wins in two events. And Ed won an event and placed in another in NY . As usual Carol, John, Butch, Mary Ann and Paul put on an incredible tournament where everyone has a great time. And this year Ben and Dmitriy set up recording stations. I rented one for the whole four days for only 50 bucks – an incredible bargain I think. Really looking forward to transcribing and reviewing them and I’ll make them available as they’re done assuming my opponents don’t mind. All my matches were recorded except the first one. Who was that against? Ed O, of course, in the first round of the Jackpot. We were playing on Ed’s new P40 board and at -2 / -5 holding a two cube I rolled a joker to go from getting gammoned to almost gin. Ed won his next 14 matches on that board, then lent it to me for the Jackpot final.
