A lightning hit right outside my office caused a power surge here and in spite of a surge protector did a number on my desktops. The one surviving lost some memory and a fan. I felt it safest to turn the overclock off. (Will find a new fan when I get a chance.)

Anyhow, 6 core 1-7-3930K chip typically cals at 6.8 mil. Was faster when overclocked. Dead computer was 8 core and overclocked and was 9 mil.

I'm waiting for Digital Storm's usual back to school sale since I haven't bought a computer in at least 3 years. The one I will get has the new 10 core chip and will have that new GTX 1080 video card and be highly overclocked. This is likely overkill, but I want a computer that I can pass on to a family member in 10 years or so and still have it not obsolete. I expect that will cal 11-12 mil. Once that arrives it is time to fix up the older ones.
