I have several students and friends in Turkey and I emailed them all last night and all responded that things are calm and it was a greatly failed coo.

Without naming names some are very fearful of the future feeling that the current president will now become a complete dictator and one even said it will feel like living in Nazi Germany.

Dennis Culpepper and I have tickets to Istanbul and had planned to spend a couple of days there on our way to Cypprus in November and my student/friends there have planned all kinds of activities for us including chouettes at night and sightseeing during the day....we will see if this is still going to happen.

I am also concerned about the Merit Open in Cyprus....I hope this will still come off as I am not only looking forward to the tournament, Mochy, Michy, Ben and Dennis and I have a boot camp planned the day before.

We will stay in touch.

I seem to be very timely in my travels, as I am flying into Nice in 4 days!
