The candidates appear to be 20/10, 20/14 20/16, 20/14 6/2, 20/16 8/2, making the deuce, or 9/5 9/3. I think running both out to the 14 & 16 points is best. Dups 2s and 4s so Blue will probably get a direct return shot if White does hit. If missed, Blue isn't home free (I count 13 rolls that leave another direct next time) but is in pretty good shape.

20/10 lets White hit and escape with tempo so that looks wrong. The out and dump plays could work but the blot on the deuce is a liability. Making the deuce leaves everything outside the inner board stripped which doesn't feel right. White will probably cover his 2-point and then (barring a great set) blue will have to give up something next time. Breaking the 9 creates some spares to play with but gives up a valuable blocking point which doesn't look like a good trade to me.

My guess for the crew's compromise play is 20/14 6/2.
