Two better(?) alternatives - Interesting Prop

I would propose that each player calling one of the two dice numbers at each roll would be more interesting to try and could perhaps evolve into a meaningful skill game.

Let me illustrate a little. The player on roll would go first to call one of the number and the other player will then call the second number.

Let's say Player-A would like some numbers like 4-2, 4-3, 3-5. He could call a 4. Then Player-B can call a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6. Obviously he would not call a 2 or 3 that would help Player-A.

Now, let's say that some dice combinations starting with Player-A's choice of 4 would also hurt him, like a 4-4 or a 4-1. Player-B then can call a 1 to mess him up, and perhaps so badly to make Player-A regret calling a 4 to begin with.

But if Player-A is good enough to see that possibility, he can call a 3 instead, which would not form an as good a combination with other numbers as a 4 but also would not allow Player-B to form any bad combinations.

In other words, player on roll can assure himself a number that will hit but the other player can at least prevent him from making a point at the same time.

Thus, there will be always a calculated compromise which would result in a more realistic game.

Similarly, another variation may be to just roll the dice normally but allow the player on roll to only play one of the numbers (of his choice) and the opponent to play the second number.

I think each player having control over only a half of each turn, whether half of the dice or half of the move, would result in a game requiring great skill without getting too brainy and/or solvable.

I'll comtemplate on this some more and would like to hear comments...
