Video Recording of Matches

I feel that as a matter of personal liberty, recording of matches should be permitted. The only exception to this should be when the process of recording is unduly distracting. For example, if a player spends too much time attending to the camera it should be treated like any other unjustified delay.
The other issue that has been discussed relates to the disemination or publication of the transcript. This has been debated in the Chess world for over a century. I had thought there was a US court case on the subject, but apparantly that didn't happen. Nevertheless, attempts to restrict the publication of transcripts have failed. Anyone can publish any transcript of a Chess game. In Chess, the issue has been more about money and less about privacy - Can a grandmaster demand payment for the publication of his games? However, the fundamental issue is the same; does a player or a tournament organizer have the right to control the publication of the moves to their games? Any attempt to restrict the publication of a match transcript is unenforceable. I am not in favor of unenforceable rules or rules that restrict personal liberty. I am 100% in favor of being considerate of the feelings of an opponent who prefers to keep the transcript of a match private. This can usually be accomplished between the two players without the intertervention of the tournament director. To my knowledge, this informal approach has proved adequate in all instances.
